Music and Solidarity: Reaching Out to All Audiences

Les Flâneries Musicales de Reims develops projects for people who face barriers to accessing culture. Disability, incarceration, financial hardship, or living in remote areas should not prevent people from discovering an artist or sharing a work of art.

At the IME Val de Murigny

The association has begun a dialogue with the IME Val de Murigny, which provides support to children and adolescents with disabilities. On January 29, 2025, soprano Hadhoum Tunc and harpist Eunile Lee performed a concert there for an audience of 65. This initial event paves the way for a broader participatory project involving the young people and the facility’s staff.

At the Reims Detention Center

Since 2008, the Flâneries Musicales de Reims and the Grand Est Interregional Directorate of Correctional Services have been partners. Each year, a concert is offered to inmates who wish to attend, as well as to correctional staff.

On May 27, 2025, the Ourika Duo presented a program for two cellos drawing on Berber, Gnawa, Arab-Andalusian, and Balkan repertoires. The concert, followed by a discussion with the artists, drew an audience of 20.

Provide access to the festival

During the festival, the organization also invites beneficiaries of Cultures du Cœur, the Salvation Army Foundation, and Secours Populaire, as well as children in the care of Child Welfare Services at the Foyer Saint-Remi. In 2025, 300 people benefited from this initiative to facilitate access to concerts.

Creating Intergenerational Encounters

As part of Semaine Bleue, Les Flâneries has been participating in events for seniors for the past five years. In 2025, a concert at the Maison commune du Chemin Vert and a musical tour of the Saint-Remi Museum brought together 235 attendees to enjoy music and cultural heritage.
