Biography of the Trio
Formed in Paris in 2016, the Pantoum Trio has established itself as one of the most sought-after ensembles of its generation. Winners of numerous international competitions—Munich (ARD), Vienna (Haydn), Lyon, Trieste, Melbourne, and Osaka—they now perform on the world’s greatest stages, from the Philharmonie de Paris to the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, and the Monte-Carlo Opera.
Its name, inspired by a Malay poetic form adapted by Ravel, reflects its artistic approach: rigor, inspiration, and the creation of a collective artistic vision. Guided by Claire Désert, the Trio Wanderer, Miguel Da Silva, Corina Belcea, Hatto Beyerle, Johannes Meissl, Patrick Jüdt, and Xavier Gagnepain, the ensemble strives for a level of excellence comparable to that of a string quartet.
In April 2025, La Dolce Volta released *Modern Times*, a critically acclaimed debut album (Le Monde, Télérama, The Strad) featuring works by Arensky, Ravel, and Srnka. Coming soon, the Pantoum Trio will perform in London (Wigmore Hall), Amsterdam (Concertgebouw), Copenhagen, and Ankara (Bilkent Concert Hall).
The Trio Pantoum is a recipient of a grant from the Banque Populaire Foundation, an artist-in-residence at the Singer-Polignac Foundation, and receives support from the Safran Foundation for Music.
