2025 Picnic Concert
150 musicians, a summer night, and 10,000 captivated spectators
On Saturday, July 19, 2025, the Parc de Champagne was transformed into an open-air stage to host one of the festival’s most anticipated events: the grand picnic concert of the Flâneries Musicales de Reims.
A lively open-air atmosphere, checkered tablecloths, chilled champagne, live music, and fireworks… All the ingredients were there to make this evening an unforgettable, intergenerational experience.
2025 Aftermovie
Three orchestras, one stage, 150 performers together
This year, three major bands took the stage one after another to treat the audience to over two and a half hours of music:
- The WSKOV (the Netherlands Student Choir and Orchestra), with a program as colorful as it is international: Fauré, Poulenc, traditional Latvian, Filipino, and Chinese songs…
- TheThe Air and Space Force Concert Band, in a decidedly jazz and cinematic style (Gershwin, John Williams, Benny Goodman…).
- TheÎle-de-France National Orchestra, for a grand finale blending operetta, musical theater, and orchestral swing (Offenbach, Bernstein, Milhaud…).
👉 A program that is accessible, festive, and appeals to all ages, designed so that everyone can enjoy it, even if they aren’t classical music fans.
Easy access, streamlined logistics
To provide the best possible experience for spectators, 22 entry lanes have been set up, cutting wait times in half.
Thanks to the security guardsand the designated parking lots, and free shuttles and bike/disabled access, the arrival went very smoothly.
An evening to savor
The picnic could be prepared in advance or put together on site using:
- A Pommery champagne bar
- A Flâneries Beer and Non-Alcoholic Beverage Bar
- A sweet food truckDelights
All this in a relaxed atmosphere, with lounge chairs, families, groups of friends, blankets spread out on the grass, and children running among the trees.
A fireworks display in perfect harmony
At 11 p.m., the evening came to a close with a fireworks display synchronized to music—a true light show accompanied by the orchestra.
A spectacular finale, met with rapt silence from the audience.
