
French conductor Pierre Bleuse is fast becoming one of the most exciting and sought-after conductors around. In September 2023, he becomes Music Director of the prestigious Ensemble Intercontemporain for an initial four-year term, succeeding Matthias Pintscher who has held the post since 2013. His contract as Principal Conductor of the Odense Symphony Orchestra is extended until 2026. He has also been artistic director of the renowned Pablo Casals Festival since 2021.
Among the highlights of the 2023/24 season, Pierre Bleuse is invited to guest conduct several renowned international orchestras, including: the Rotterdam Concertgebouw Orchestra, the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, the BBC Symphony Orchestra, the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestre National de Lyon, the Orquesta Nacional de España, and the Alicante and Valencia orchestras in Spain. He returns to the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra and the Singapore Symphony Orchestra for two consecutive subscription weeks, as well as to Hannover's NDR Radiophilharmonie for a concert at the famous Elbphilharmonie. Deeply involved in contemporary music and opera, Bleuse conducts Héctor Parra's opera Orgia, directed by Calixto Bieito, at Barcelona's Gran Teatre del Liceu.
