Considered the world's new face of classical guitar, Raphaël Feuillâtre fascinates audiences and critics alike with the depth of his interpretations, his dazzling virtuosity and the richness of his repertoire.

First prize winner of the prestigious Guitar Foundation of America competition (USA - 2018) and Classical Revelation 2021 by ADAMI, Raphaël has been chosen as exclusive artist by the Deutsche Grammophon label in 2022. He thus becomes one of the rare guitarists to join this legendary label. This fruitful collaboration gave rise to a first single, Les Barricades Mystérieuses, and a debut album, Visages Baroques, in 2023, in which Raphaël explores different facets of the Baroque aesthetic around Johann Sebastian Bach and Jean-Philippe Rameau.

After a remarkable debut at New York's Carnegie Hall in the spring of 2023, he went on to perform at some of the world's most prestigious venues and festivals, including Amsterdam's Concertgebouw, La Folle Journée de Nantes and Bonn's Beethoven Haus, as well as at major guitar events such as the Festival International de Guitare de Paris, Argentina's Guitarras del Mundo Festival and China's Changsha International Guitar Festival.

His passion for chamber music and his desire to promote his instrument have led him to collaborate with first-rate musicians: recorder player Lucie Horsch, trumpeter Lucienne Renaudin Vary and violinist Maria Dueñas at events such as Deutsche Grammophon's Yellow Lounge, the Dresden Music Festival and the Società del Quartetto Di Milano - Sala G. Verdi. Verdi.

Born in Djibouti in 1996, Raphaël began playing guitar with his first teacher, Hacène Addadi in Cholet, before joining Michel Grizard's class at the Conservatoire de Nantes in 2012. Three years later, he joined the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris in the classes of Roland Dyens and Tristan Manoukian. During this period, Judicaël Perroy played an essential role in his artistic development.

In addition to his first prize at the GFA, Raphaël has distinguished himself in other competitions, such as the Jose Tomas International Guitar Competition in Villa Petrer (Spain - 2017), the Kutna Hora International Guitar Festival (Czech Republic - 2017), the Viseu International Spring Music Festival (Portugal - 2016), the Fontenay-sous-Bois Guitar Competition & Festival (France - 2015), and the Ciudad de Coria International Guitar Festival (Spain - 2014).

An ambassador for the guitar, and keen to contribute to the development of its repertoire, he commissions arrangements of numerous works from the repertoires he loves, notably for piano and harpsichord, an attraction that is particularly reflected in his choice of recorded programs.

Driven by a deep-seated desire to pass on his passion for music and the instrument, Raphaël teaches at the Pont Supérieur - Bretagne and co-founds the Lille Guitar Academy, a summer academy for guitarists. Students from all over the world benefit from his advice during masterclasses given at the San Francisco Conservatory, the Manhattan School of Music in New York, and the Haute École de Musique in Geneva, among others. He is also involved in projects to raise awareness of the arts, notably during a tour of the United States which enabled him to give talks in schools and prisons.

Raphaël Feuillâtre is supported by Savarez, a historic string manufacturer founded in 1770, and plays a guitar by Australian luthier Greg Smallman.
