The Tchalik Quartet has the unique characteristic of being made up of four brothers and sisters. Its qualities were recognized as early as the first international competition in which the Tchalik Quartet took part. In 2018, it brilliantly won the First Prize at the Salzburg Mozart Competition, with the jury also awarding it the Special Prize for the best interpretation of a Mozart quartet.
Since then, the Tchalik Quartet has performed in the most prestigious concert halls and festivals in France and around the world, including the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Philharmonic Orchestras of Paris, Cologne and Dresden, the Mozarteum in Salzburg and many others...
In parallel with their concert activity, the Tchalik Quartet founds their own independent label, Alkonost Classic, and develops an intense recording activity. Its albums devoted to Thierry Escaich and Saint-Saëns have won two Choc de Classica awards, and its Reynaldo Hahn album, acclaimed by international critics, received a ffff from Télérama. His last two recordings, devoted to Russian and Ukrainian music, were also acclaimed by the critics.
Highlights of the 2024-25 season will take the quartet to the Concertgebouw Nijmegen, Perugia Musica Classica, Schwetzinger SWR Festspiele, Mozartfest Würzburg, Auditorium National de Lyon and twice to the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées.
The Quatuor Tchalik plays on instruments by luthier Philippe Mitéran and with bows by bow maker Konstantin Cheptitski, made especially for them. Since early 2024, the quartet has been playing a classical bow quartet made by Jean-Yves Tanguy.
In autumn 2024, the Tchalik Quartet opens a string quartet class at the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris.
