Pierre Fouchenneret is a violinist from Nice whose commitment extends to both solo and chamber music activities. He is renowned for his audacity and his vision of the repertoire, and has been heard with orchestras such as the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, the Orchestre National de Bordeaux Aquitaine, the Strasbourg Philharmonic and the Irish Radio-Television Symphony Orchestra...
In the continuity of these collaborations, Pierre shares the artistic direction of the Ostinato orchestra, which supports the emergence and professional integration of young talent from the best conservatories. This diverse and demanding experience is reflected in his teaching activities at the Haute Ecole de Musique Genève-Neuchâtel, where he currently holds a position as violin professor.
These key encounters naturally led Pierre to pedagogy. A child prodigy, Pierre Fouchenneret began his studies at the Conservatoire à rayonnement régional de Nice in Alain Babouchian's class, and completed them at the age of 16 at the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse de Paris in chamber music and violin in the classes of Daria Hovora and Olivier Charlier, whose assistant he later became. After graduating from his studies, a number of distinctions immediately launched Pierre on the path to intense concert activity.
Invited to perform all over the world, Pierre Fouchenneret's "extraordinary bow" (Le Figaro) soon found himself playing with exceptional musicians, with whom he developed pharaonic projects. He founded the Strada quartet, with whom he shared many ventures, including the complete works of Brahms and his son: Brahms' music in twelve albums (BRecords), Beethoven's sonatas for piano and violin (Aparte), Robert Schumann's music (BRecords), including the violin concerto, and Gabriel Fauré's chamber music (Aparte), as well as the rare violin concerto he performs with the Irish Radio and Television Symphony Orchestra, to be released by Naxos.
