- Pressoria - A sensory journey to the heart of Champagne, Aÿ-Champagne
After winning her first prize in 2001 at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, Deborah Nemtanu quickly distinguished herself on the international scene, winning the Maurice Ravel Academy Prize, taking part in the Perlman Program in the United States, and winning 2nd prize in the Benjamin Britten Competition in London, crowned by a concert with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
Since 2005, she has been concertmaster of the Orchestre de Chambre de Paris, regularly appearing as soloist at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées. Curious and passionate, she broadens her repertoire by proposing programs in which she switches from violin to viola, while conducting the Orchestra herself.
In the 2015-2016 season, she conducted Mozart symphonies at the Hôtel Sully in Paris and at the Palazzo Farnese in Rome. As a soloist, she performs at the Enescu Festival and the Augsburg Festival under Sir Roger Norrington, plays solo at the Montpellier Festival and in recital at the Musée d'Orsay. In 2016, she released her third album, devoted to the complete Bartók Duos (Decca), in collaboration with her sister Sarah.
The same month, Deborah Nemtanu was named Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres.
In the 2019-2020 season, she opens the Orchestre de Chambre de Paris season with Ravel's Tzigane at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, then at 104, live on France Musique. She continues to collaborate with talented and eclectic artists such as Thomas Enhco, the Strada Quartet, François-Frédéric Guy, Olli Mustonen, Tabea Zimmermann and many others.
Her preferred partners include pianists Romain Descharmes and Natacha Kudritskaya, and clarinettist Florent Pujuila. Deborah also forms a duo with her sister Sarah Nemtanu and begins a new collaboration with cellist François Salque.
