After training with Béatrice Berne in Clermont-Ferrand, Alexandre Morard benefited from the teaching of clarinetists such as Paul Meyer, Manuel Metzger and Franck Amet, before completing his studies with Jean-Marc Foltz at HEAR in Strasbourg, where he was awarded the Prix Musique 2022.
Although he has often played in orchestras (Les Siècles, Colonne, Sostenuto, EOCL, etc.), he is more interested in chamber music, and has taken part in several festivals (Debussy, Musicales de Blanchardeau, MilleSources, etc.). The idea of transmission is close to his heart, and is reflected in his commitment to teaching numerous students, as well as in his CA training at the CNSMD in Paris.
Eager for original experiences, he is involved in a wide range of projects involving dance, theater and the visual arts. As a result, most of his current groups (Symbiose, Ensemble Quartz, Collectif Telescopik, Quatuor Alma) are rethinking concert formats, with a focus on the permeability between musical styles (classical, contemporary, jazz, etc.), the ambivalence between writing and improvisation, and above all, the central place given to creation. He therefore composes original music for these different ensembles, incorporating his literary and poetic side as well.
