Pascal Trio

Denis Pascal, piano
Alexandre Pascal, violin
Aurélien Pascal, cello

Music runs in the Pascal family. The father, Denis Pascal, needs no introduction. He is an exceptional pianist, both as a soloist and as a valued chamber music partner, and one of the most esteemed teachers at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Paris. Denis Pascal has launched a cycle of Schubert recordings for the La Música label, the third volume of which will be released in March 2024, and his latest album devoted to Erik Satie was unanimously acclaimed by the critics, winning a CHOC from Classica and TTTT from Telerama.

Music lovers are also already well acquainted with his son Aurélien Pascal, one of the brightest stars of the new generation of French cellists, who triumphed at the Feuermann International Competition in 2014 at the Berlin Philharmonic, winning the Grand Prix, the Prix Spécial du Public and the Prize for the best interpretation of the Ernst Toch concerto. In 2023 he was named Instrumental Soloist Revelation at the Victoires de la Musique Classique awards, and today performs worldwide as a soloist with the most prestigious orchestras, as well as in chamber music with renowned partners such as Alexandre Kantorow or Renaud Capucon. In 2019, he released his CD "All'Ungarese" (La Música) to unanimous critical acclaim, winning a CHOC de Classica and a Diapason Découverte.

But the family also includes a violinist, Alexandre Pascal, a year older than Aurélien, ADAMI Classical Revelation and Banque Populaire Foundation Laureate, who received expert advice from the legendary cellist Janos Starker, worked with Olivier Charlier at the CNSM before perfecting his skills with Augustin Dumay at the prestigious Chapelle Reine Elisabeth, and now performs in the most renowned concert halls and festivals.

In 2021, the Trio Pascal's first recording, devoted to Schubert's Trios n°1 op.99 and n°2 op.100, will be released on the La Música label. This recording, like each of the Trio Pascal's concerts, wonderfully demonstrates how the family ties uniting these three exceptional instrumentalists create a complicity and musical osmosis like no other.
