lila beauchard biography

Lila Beauchard hails from Reims, where she began her cello studies. After two years with Diana Ligeti, she is currently studying with Anne Gastinel and Édouard Sappey-Triomphe at the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et danse de Lyon (CNSMDL).

She also benefits from the advice of Gary Hoffman, Marc Coppey, Peter Wispelwey and Raphaël Pidoux, as well as members of the Debussy and Voce quartets. She perfects her playing through courses, master-classes and concerts, which have led her to perform with the Orchestre national de Lyon and the Orchestre de l'Opéra de Lyon.

She is particularly keen on string quartet work, and with three friends from the CNSMDL founded the Misia quartet, which has been perfecting its skills with Yovan Markovitch. The ensemble performs at the Orchestre National de Lyon Auditorium and in private concerts.

Lila Beauchard also performs in chamber music concerts, at festivals such as the Flâneries musicales de Reims, and with the association Les Concerts de Poche.

An enthusiast of contemporary music, last season she was invited to premiere a piece for solo cello by Atsushi Sakaï as part of the Ateliers du violoncelle program.

Interested in a wide range of musical styles, she trained as a jazz cellist and joined the DeLeones Tango Orquesta, with whom she has performed in various countries. She has also taken part in a wide range of projects, mixing written and improvised music, theater and dance.
