Garance Schlemmer, storyteller

Garance is passionate about cinema and theater. She began her artistic career directing Anamour, a documentary-fiction, followed by a medium-length film entitled Fragments. Since 2019, she has been working with Compagnie Jeune Public Les Archets à Bâbord as an actress and musician in Maman, un homme veut me marier, as well as Petit violon deviendra grand.

With a keen interest in teaching, she gives introductory theater classes in several elementary schools in the Paris region. In August 2023, she interned with the Scena Nostra company on their latest creation, Les Méritants, at the Théâtre de la Tempête. At the start of the 2023 academic year, she completes her Dramatic Art studies at the Paul Dukas Conservatory in the 12th arrondissement, with Anne Caillère and Eve Gollac, while at the same time enrolling in the Master Études Théâtrales program at La Sorbonne Nouvelle.

Marie-Jeanne Lechaux, concertmaster

Her ties to the Brittany region naturally led Marie-Jeanne Lechaux to become concertmaster of Les Archets de Bretagne. In Paris, she is a member of Les Violons de France. Committed to transmitting a playful and attractive pedagogy, she teaches violin at the musical clubs of La Poste and France Télécom. She joined Les Archets à Bâbord in 2005 as first violin in the Petit Violon quartet, enabling her to combine her two passions: music and live performance.

In 2017, she imagined the character of Mademoiselle Rose, heroine of the "musiques illustrées" company's shows. Marie-Jeanne studied music from an early age, winning first prize for violin at the CRR in Versailles. Since 1985, she has been a member of the Lamoureux orchestra. From 1987 to 1995, she was concertmaster of the Paris City Teachers' Chamber Orchestra, and took part in workshops for elementary school children.

Laurence Valentino, second violin

Laurence Valentino holds a Diplôme d'État (DE) and a Certificat d'Aptitude (CA) in violin teaching, and is a full professor with the City of Paris. She currently teaches modern and baroque violin at the Conservatoire du 6e arrondissement. She has set up a specific music and dance curriculum for Baroque violin, enabling students to begin Baroque violin right from their beginnings up to the specialized cycle.

Her most notable teachers were Éric Fauvet, Geneviève Simonot and Maurice Moulin, and she studied the Baroque violin repertoire with Hélène Schmitt and Patrick Bismuth. After performing regularly with a variety of instrumental ensembles, including Opéra Éclaté, Orchestre Lyrique Jacques Offenbach, Orchestre Lamoureux and Divertimento, she joined Compagnie Les Archets à Bâbord in 2009 for Petit Violon.

Nathalie Priot, violin viola

Nathalie Priot teaches at secondary school level, and is involved in musical practice with elementary school children, focusing on the voice and sound discoveries of the viola. She also teaches violin to children in the Demos project, as part of a global approach to learning music through the instrument and the orchestral group. Passionate about live performance and music, she is developing a reflection on childhood and music. Her encounters with publisher Louis Magnard, author Rémy Schlemmer and the company's musicians have enabled her to develop a playful, educational approach to the creation of musical performances.

The longest-serving member of Les Archets, she plays the viola, sings and performs in all the company's shows. Nathalie began her musical career on the piano, then continued her studies in the viola class at the CRR de Saint-Maur with Christos Michalakakos. She obtained the CAPES in musicology at the Sorbonne, studied drama at the Cours Florent and took classical singing lessons with Hannelore Nagorsen and jazz with singer Michèle Hendricks.

Lucie Chapel, cello

After studying at the École Normale de Musique de Paris, Lucie Chapel continued her training with Yovan Markovitch (Ysaÿe Quartet) and Etienne Cardoze (Orchestre de Chambre de Paris) at the CRD de Bourg-la-Reine/Sceaux, where she obtained her 1st Prize in 2004. She also works with Jean-Marie Gamard, Marcel Bardon and Valérie Aimard, as well as with the Quatuor Ysaÿe on various masterclasses and courses.

At the same time, she studied Musicology at the Sorbonne, where she joined the Symphony Orchestra and took part in a tour of Rome, as well as a session under Seiji Ozawa. She obtained her Maîtrise in 2005. Since 2008, Lucie has taken part in various concerts with Parisian orchestras, notably at the Salle Pleyel and Théâtre du Châtelet. A holder of the Diplôme d'État and a keen pedagogue, she teaches at the Fontenay-sous-Bois and Les Lilas conservatories. She joined Les Archets à Bâbord in 2009 to create Petit Violon.
